Awards to Canada rising artists for excellence in digital media. Submissions will be judged based on originality, concept, aesthetics, technique, and relevance. Artwork must have been completed within five years of the submission deadline date. The purpose of this award is to foster experimentation in the work of emerging artists and create opportunities for those working in digital media.
Each year, EDAA seeks artwork submissions from across the country that push EDAA in new directions and challenge EDAA to see the world through a different screen. Whether digital images, videos, animations, GIFs, websites, games, apps, artificial and virtual realities, or holograms (that’s right, EDAA's hopeful), the EDAA is here to recognize it, support it, and help it grow.
Your submission must take the form of ‘Digital Art’, defined as a screen-based artwork that demonstrates an engagement with digital technologies in the process of its creation. Analogue processes may be part of the work’s production, but the output must be digital. Digital documentation of traditional media will not be considered.
For information on assessment criteria, see "How to Apply" in Pre-Application Information below.
