Grants to USA, Canada, and International healthcare schools and institutions, professional associations, medical societies, and medical education companies for research related to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Funding is intended to support research projects focused on the management of metabolic disorders’ risks that drive liver disease outcomes and increase cardiovascular risk in NASH.

Projects that will be considered for Pfizer support will focus on:

  • Innovative treatment approaches to reduce the risk of, slow or prevent progression to severe liver outcomes such as advanced fibrosis, cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, or liver transplant
  • Understanding the linkage of NAFLD/NASH and cardiovascular disease in patients with NASH
  • Understanding the contribution of NAFLD/NASH to overall morbidity and mortality risks

The submitted proposals should aim to inform the scientific and clinical community and to advance the discussion around management of liver and cardiovascular outcomes in NASH.

Individual projects requesting up to $200,000 USD will be considered.

Term of Contract:

Anticipated Project Start and End Dates: Projects can only begin upon contract execution, which is anticipated to occur by October 1, 2021.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

- The following may apply: medical, dental, nursing, allied health, and/or pharmacy professional schools; healthcare institutions (both large and small); professional associations and medical societies; medical education companies; and other entities with a mission related to healthcare professional education and/or healthcare improvement.
- If the project involves multiple departments within an institution and/or between different institutions/organizations/associations, all institutions must have a relevant role and the requesting organization must have a key role in the project.
- For projects offering continuing education credit, the requesting organization must be accredited.

It is not Pfizer's intent to support clinical research projects. Projects evaluating the efficacy of therapeutic or diagnostic agents will not be considered.
