Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International startups to participate in a startup accelerator addressing marine challenges. The opportunity is intended for early-stage startups with prototypes as well as startups who have already received seed funding. Startups may address all types of ocean solutions.

Definitions:

  • Early Stage: The startup has not yet raised a seed round and has a prototype.
  • Later Stage: The startup has recently closed a seed round or Series A and has a strong MVP and traction.
  • Accepted Solutions: SOA accepts all types of ocean solutions, as long as it is solving the most critical issues as defined by United Nations SDG14. Historically, key impact areas SOA has considered include aquaculture & fisheries, new materials & packaging and ocean data.

Ocean Solutions Accelerator Program are looking for applicants with:

  • A strong team whose mission and vision aligns with the values of the Funding Source.
  • Demonstrated track record of success.
  • Focused impact that drives measurable change.
  • Ability to scale with a path for the future

Applications are reviewed and advanced on a rolling basis.

Key Dates:
- February 3: Application Live
- April 12: Final Application Deadline
- February 22 - April 12: Interviews and Offers
- May 10: Final Applicant and Offer Acceptance Date *Final agreements must be signed and received for both Cohorts*
- June 7: 4th Wave Cohort of virtual Accelerator begins for early stage companies
- July 8: 4th Wave Cohort presents at SOA Connects virtual summit Demo Day
- September 7: 5th Wave Cohort of virtual Accelerator begins for late stage companies
- October 7: 5th Wave Cohort presents at SOA Connects virtual summit Demo

Once you complete the ~30 minute application, your application will be reviewed by the SOA Team and the Selection Committee of experts. If advanced, you will be invited to a 30 minute Zoom interview; there may be some additional follow up from the SOA team for more details as needed. If your company advances from there, you will need to prepare additional documents to complete the process.
